Israel recalls its "naked" Ambassador

Israel and El Salvador has no diplomatic crisis; however, the first decided yesterday to recall its ambassador. The decision to call the envoy ranks among the most bizarre reasons for recalling an ambassador ever. The Israeli envoy to El Salvador was discovered on the streets of the capital drunk and tied up — wearing nothing except for bondage gear, officials have said.

According to a police report, officers noted that the ambassador had his hands bound, his mouth gagged and appeared to be with accessories that suggested sado-masochistic acts. The Ambassador; however, was very smart enough to identify himself to the police as Israel's ambassador to the central American nation — a role which, following the incident, is no longer his :-)

This incident is not the first embarrassing one, where an Israeil ambassador was caught in the act. In 2000, Israel's ambassador to France died of cardiac arrest in a Paris hotel under circumstances the Foreign Ministry refused to publicize. Media reports said he was with a woman who was not his wife at the time. Also last year, Israel replaced its ambassador to Australia, Naftali Tamir, after he said Israel and Australia are “like sisters” because both are located in Asia and their peoples don't have the Asian characteristics of “yellow skin and slanted eyes.”

Apparently, "the wrong man for the job," is not only an Arabic phenomenon.

Shifaa, I thought that I would die laughing when I read the account on Fox News online, where the article stated that the round, apple-size ball had to be removed from his mouth before he could speak. But it's not funny when people like this represent a government and a country. I am generally very disappointed in the quality of leaders in the US, in Israel, well, just about everywhere. No wonder the world is in just terrible shape with people like him representing countries---not to mention the top leaders like Putin who is suspected of murder.
